A cartridge heater is a piece of equipment, usually in tube form, that is used in heating applications by way of insertion into metal blocks via a series of drilled holes. The types of applications that are suitable for cartridge heater use includes injection moulding moulds, nozzles, T dies and extrusion dies. Cartridge heaters are manufactured in two basic forms - high density and low density. High density cartridge heaters are used to heat plastic injection moulds, dies, platens and so forth, whereas low density cartridge heaters are more suitable for packing machinery, heat sealing, labelling machines and hot stamping applications. Read more information about the performance of our about cartridge heaters.

Fire Sticks (also known as cartridge heaters) are suitable for a variety of heating applications and these include; moulds, dies, platens, hot plates, sealings, fluid heating, life sciences, aerospace, semiconductor and food service equipment. They provide excellent heat transfer at consistent temperatures and are resistant to oxidation and corrosion. Fire sticks can be supplied in a variety of standard sizes and wattages, but may also be custom made in order to fulfil specific application requirements. There are a variety of temperature controllers and sensors that can be fitted to Fire Sticks such as surface mount temperature sensors (thermocouple, RTD, Thermistors).

Strip heaters can be used in a wide variety of applications, for example, process air heating for cabinet warming, baking ovens, and ovens used for vacuum dehydration. They are also effective for surface heating and can be used with a range of surfaces, including dies, tanks, platens, and moulds. Strip heaters are relatively cost-effective, simple to install, and able to provide dependable surface-contact heating, especially over wide areas. They are manufactured in many sizes in regular strip and finned constructions, in a wide variety of wattages and, depending on the specific heating application requirements, with holes and notches to suit.

Drum heaters are suitable for applications where the viscosity of liquids and gels need to be reduced by heating so that the liquid can be filled, pumped or bottled. Such liquids include tar, varnish, resin, grease, chocolate and gelatine. Drum heaters can also be used to prevent liquids from freezing inside the drum. Drum heaters are available for drums between 20 and 220 litres and can be supplied in a variety of types, dependent on the specific application requirements, including: drum ovens, glass fibre mats, insulated heating jackets, drum base heaters and induction drum heaters.

Mica band heaters are an efficient and economical solution to a range of heating application requirements including blow moulding, injection moulding, film extruders, plastic and rubber processing machinery, and can be supplied in a variety of materials such as brass, stainless steel and mild steel. Mica band heater features include high thermal resistance, durability, energy efficiency, and excellent thermal conductivity and dielectric strength. Mica band heaters are fitted with different styles of clamping mechanisms specific to each application, to ensure the heat transfer rate from heater to cylinder. These types of heaters should not really be used for temperature applications in excess of 350 Deg C. For these applications ceramic filled heaters should be specified.

Band heaters are widely used in the plastic moulding industry to heat barrels and nozzles carrying molten plastic for injection moulding or extrusion. Typical band heater applications include heating the barrels of extrusion and injection moulding machinery, heating blown film dies, and heating other cylindrical objects. The heat from the band heaters maintains the molten plastic temperature (and its fluid state) as it flows to the mould or extruder. Band heaters are usually custom made dependent on application requirements and are generally consist of an electric heating element and insulator and multipart outer shell assembly that provides for heat transfer.
